Questions and Answers

How can I secure my wedding date in your diary?

A deposit of £100 will secure a date in my diary. This is of course taken off the balance of your bill on the wedding day

What happens if I decide to be tanned for my wedding day?

I always custom blend foundations, so if your skin is a darker shade on your wedding day than it was at our trial run I will simply adjust your base to match.

What products do you use?

My kit is built up of professional make up and skin care products. Largely MAC, Bobby Brown, Clarins, Christian Dior, Nars, Laura Mercier and many more.

What if you are ill on my wedding day?

I am pleased to say this is something I have never encountered, however in this unlikely event every effort would be made to find to an alternative hair & make up artist. If for any reason this was not possible, you would, of course be given a full refund including your deposit.

When to book a trial

You can book your wedding date in my diary as early as 6 months before your wedding with a £100 deposit, to ensure that the date is your’s. The actual trial however , ideally takes place about 3 months before your wedding day.
I have found that Brides seem comforted to know that all their hair & make up details have been thought through and plans are in place by then : they can rest assured in the final weeks leading up to their big day knowing that this major consideration has been taken care of.

Which areas do you cover?

I am based in Guildford and due to high demand in this area I mostly cover weddings within a 10 mile radius. However I am happy to consider commissions further a field.

Do you come to me for the trial?

Yes, although I am happy to come to your parent’s home if they are local. Sometime’s it’s helpful for you to have mum’s opinion too.

I don’t usually wear make up, what do you suggest?

Although you may happily sport a bare face in everyday life, this isn’t just ANY day we are talking about! With an large expanse of ivory satin it can be the case that a completely nude face would look washed out and featureless.

Since this is a day when you will want to look your most radiant, I cannot emphasise enough the benefits the of a very light and natural make up to ensure you look your very best.

I certainly empathise with the ‘make up virgin’ and promise to deliver a look that not only feels comfortable on your skin but looks just like YOU with that extra special ‘glow’.

Does make up have to be applied extra heavily for photographs?

In some instances yes, but assuming you aren’t going to be under heavy lighting on this day, your make up should be subtle enough to look natural to the naked eye yet with enough definition to bring out your features in photographs.

This is no time for ‘game show host’ levels of foundation!

My aim is to create a flawless complexion with some expertly applied colour to strengthen eyes, cheeks and lips.

When should I pay the final balance?

The balance is payable on your wedding day, by cash or cheque please.

What if I decide to cancel my booking?

You must notify me of a cancellation at least two months before your wedding, otherwise a cancellation fee will be charged.

Please note that deposits are non refundable in the event of a cancellation.
